Melody Street: Story and Illustrations

Hey Kids,

The stories in this book are for you! You can have fun as you learn about music.  In this world of make-believe, you meet four boys who are best friends: DO - RE - MI and SO.  When the boys grow up, they build houses for themselves and their families. The locations of the houses on Melody Street help you learn about the part of music called melody in our real world.

The stories in this book help children learn solfege pitches and melodic terminology in a sequential manner, as is recommended by the Kodaly concept for learning music. The artwork is deliberately simple to encourage the use of one's imagination and to allow for free expression of musical creativity.
