Melody Street Publishing Company is a small business locally owned and operated since 2000 by Betty M. Reeves
with encouragement from her husband, Glenn. They married in 1991 and have five adult children, six grandchildren, three
step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
Betty grew up on a farm near the small town of
Amherst, Texas. She started taking piano lessons and
singing solos when she was eight. When she was 10 years old, Betty decided
to be a musician and never wavered from that decision.
Betty has the Bachelor of Music Education, cum laude, from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, and the Master of Arts in Music with Kodaly Certification from West Texas A&M University, Canyon. She taught choir and general music in Borger ISD for 23 years to more than 5,300 students.
Now, Betty sings and plays piano, keyboard, guitar and several other folk instruments. Betty is actively involved in the music ministry of First Baptist Church and serves on the board of the Tri-City Music Concert Association in her hometown. She enjoys writing, arranging and composing.
Both Betty and Glenn are active members of the
First Baptist Church where Betty is involved in the music ministry and
Glenn translates for the deaf using American Sign Language . He is a strong spiritual leader for their family.
Glenn grew up in LaMesa, Texas, but moved to Borger in 1969. He purchased Borger Credit Bureau in 1986. The business is located in the convenient downtown area.
He also owns Pac & Mail Mailing Center across the ally from the bureau. Glenn literally RUNS both businesses as he hustles back and forth between the two buildings. His hobby is cars, especially vintage cars, and he owns several.
